P&C Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare P&C designs, drawings, and technical reports for HV GIS substations up to 400kV.
• Develop protective schemes, single-line diagrams, and assist in preparation/review of AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, SCADA I/O schedules, and BOMs.
• Perform CT/VT sizing, cable sizing, and voltage drop calculations for control cables.
• Support configuration and design of control and relay panels, CT/PT connections, battery chargers, and related protection systems.
• Assist in development and interpretation of inter-tripping logics and FO drawings for GIS/AIS substations.
• Support design and troubleshooting activities related to 48V DC and 110V AC control and protection supply systems.
• Prepare and review MCP schemes, IED diagrams, RTU interfaces, and PMS control interfaces.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including SCADA, PLC, RTU, and BMS engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and relevant client/project standards.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, FAT, and SAT activities for protection and control systems.
• Assist in preparation of as-built drawings and final documentation.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in Protection & Control system design and engineering for substations/projects.
• Knowledge of relay settings, AC/DC drawings, protection coordination, and fault analysis.
• Experience in preparation/review of AC/DC system schematics, FO communication interfaces, and protection logics.
• Familiarity with MCP, IED, and PMS schemes.
• Understanding of HV design inputs for GIS systems up to 400kV.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEC 61850, NEC, ANSI, and other relevant international standards/codes.
• Basic working knowledge of PLC systems and integration with protection schemes will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in engineering software/tools such as Zuken E3, PCM600, REB500, SSC600, EPLAN Electric P8, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
